Two-time Grammy winner, violinist Mads Tolling & Larry Vuckovich present Improvisational Dialogue @ Forest Hill Concerts.
Mads Tolling, a two-time Grammy Award winner is a nationally renowned violinist and composer. He tours and performs all over the world and his recordings received rave reviews. The program will include originals by both Larry and Mads plus jazz standards, Latin, Brazilian, swinging selections and ethno-jazz. Larry’s original “Scandinavian Waltz,” dedicated to the great Scandinavian musicians will be played this evening. The Forest Hill Concert venue features a beautiful Steinway, excellent acoustics, refreshments and offers a most convenient free parking lot. This is a first time meeting of these two European born jazz musicians who have absorbed the American art form of jazz and offer their unique interpretation in a form of a musical conversation.

Swing Era Hits: Music of Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Artie Shaw, Count Basie & Tommy Dorsey, featuring Jackie Ryan and former Basie drummer currently with Tony Bennett: Harold Jones @ Tucker Farm Center, Calistoga, CA
Larry Vuckovich’s Benny Goodman Tribute Sextet plus vocalist Jackie Ryan, initiates the first of a series of jazz concerts at the Tucker Farm Center. The recent jazz revival in Calistoga includes the new venue of Tucker Farm Center, which will present jazz in larger formats, booking ensembles such as quartets, quintets, sextets and so on. The BG ensemble will perform stimulating selections from the BG 1938 Carnegie Hall concert as well as some of the great hits from the orchestras of Artie Shaw, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Tommy Dorsey highlighting music from one of the great, memorable eras in jazz: the swing era. Larry Vuckovich has chosen an outstanding ensemble for this concert with Noel Jewkes, doing the role of Benny Goodman; Jeff Massanari paying tribute to Charlie Christian and vibraphonist Tommy Kesecker will fill the role of Lionel Hampton. The swinging rhythm section of Jeff Chambers and Harold Jones is perfect for this music. Harold Jones, is a member of the Tony Bennett's traveling quartet, and has played with the bands of Count Basie, Duke Ellington, and Benny Goodman. The other musicians of the ensemble have also performed with famous bands throughout the US and Europe. Don’t miss this swinging affair!
