Duet Intimacy/Improvisational Dialogue – featuring bassist/mandolinist Michael Zisman and Larry Vuckovich on piano, performing jazz classics, world music, & contemporary jazz. The repertoire will also include originals, Balkan-Middle Eastern selections as well as rare standards and jazz tango.
Bassist Michael Zisman has spent 20 years on the New York jazz scene performing with the greats such as Phil Woods, George Coleman, Cecil Payne, Eric Alexander & more. Mike is also an outstanding mandolinist playing swinging jazz on that instrument as well as world music. Mike was also the program director at Stanford Jazz for a number of years. This evening's duet will display close musical chemistry – he and Larry Vuckovich always bring fresh, creative energy to their presentation. Forest Hill Concerts offers a free parking lot as well as some refreshments.
